LOOKING FOR A BETTER FUTURE FOR OUR SOCIETY !!

One of the major concerns for the executives of the new milenium is to be dotated with the most advanced tools, and skills for their human; and professional development. Today some Latinamerican countries are organizing, and impulsing new strategies to achieve those needs. The necesity to be certified in different fields is a fact, due to the high level of professional competition according to the demand and supply

laws within the market. The knowledge of computer science new models and the possibility to communicate in different languages are in great demand.

During the last 15 years Ecuador has been developing the English Cradel Project with the support of some British agencies, it will be very important and interesting to evaluate in deep the goals that this project has achieved, since this model has been applied in many schools of the public sector for such a long time In this case there might be the necessity of a change into a new direction।

In the same way there are some very important coorporations like IBEC which is offering some very interesting Microsoft International certifications for profesionals in Ecuador। This kind of organizations are devoted to offer attractive and serious proffesional programs for executives of the new century।

The colombian government for example is promoting a national strategy on bilingual education with their "Bilinguism Program" that pretends to update and improve the level of English among their teachers as a first goal to achieve in each city of this country. Teachers have taken English evaluations to identify their needs and real knowledge of the Language, and after that they are motivated to participate in the available courses of the Bilinguism Program . I had the great opportunity to participate, and meet the colombian specialists involved in this project to offer and propose them the implementation and use of technology in these ambitious Programs.

Chile is another good example of a nation that is working on a massive project to be able to certify their students and profesional teachers under the English Project called "Ingles Abre Puertas". In my meeting with the "Ingles Abre Puertas" Ministery of Education representatives, I reconfirmed that the demand for the implementation of new technologies is increasing. CALL features appear to be part of their urge need.

The authorities of the national English project and the local government's programs in Mendoza; and La Plata in Argentina are very interested to provide and organize pedagogical and academic Courses for their English Teachers, so they can update their teaching skills. These projects are very important for the Education, Human and Proffesional Development of the communities in South America, they will certainly help us to count with better liderships for the future of our nations.
